Damascus Hosts the First Syrian-Emirati Investment Forum to Strengthen Major Industrial Partnerships
The Syrian Investment Authority organized the first Syrian-Emirati Investment Forum at the Congress Palace in Damascus, featuring a high-level economic delegation. The Syrian Federation of Chambers of Industry, led by Dr. Mazen Deirwan and including heads of regional chambers, participated to explore industrial cooperation opportunities.
Dr. Nidal al-Shaar, Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry, inaugurated the forum, emphasizing the restoration of bilateral economic ties and calling for sustainable partnerships. Similarly, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, highlighted the mutual will to achieve real integration through tangible investment projects across various sectors.
A specialized meeting was held between the Syrian Federation and UAE representatives from the Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Fujairah Chambers. The Syrian delegation showcased the country’s competitive advantages, including strategic location and skilled labor, focusing on sectors like food processing, pharmaceuticals, textiles, software, and construction materials. Discussions also covered strategic partnerships in food security and industrial agriculture.
The Emirati side welcomed the proposals, requesting a comprehensive investment guide with precise statistics to provide a clear roadmap for Emirati investors. Both parties agreed to increase mutual visits and participation in international exhibitions in the UAE.
