"Made in Syria" Festival in Zabadani: "Back to School" Discounts Break Commercial Mediation Chains

 

Coinciding with the approaching start of the new academic year and aiming to alleviate the financial burdens on families, the activities of the monthly shopping festival "Made in Syria" kicked off in the city of Zabadani. Held under the slogan "Back to School," the festival is organized by the Chamber of Industry of Damascus and its Countryside, in cooperation with the Zabadani City Council and its administration, to offer visitors an integrated shopping experience that breaks commercial mediation chains and delivers national products directly from the factory to the consumer.The opening ceremony was attended by Eng. Mohammad Ayman Al-Mawlawi, Chairman of the Chamber of Industry of Damascus and its Countryside, Mr. Samir Darwish, Chairman of the Zabadani City Council, and Sheikh Mohammad Ali Al-Darsan, representing the local community in the city, alongside several local officials and municipal council members.During the opening, Eng. Mohammad Ayman Al-Mawlawi emphasized that the festival comes at the perfect time—one week before the start of the school year—to offer a wide variety of school supplies and household needs. Al-Mawlawi pointed out that all exhibits, including fabrics, school uniforms, notebooks, pens, shoes, and bags, are of high quality and are offered at discounts of no less than 25% compared to local markets, reaching up to half price (50%) for certain items like school bags. He concluded by confirming the continuous cooperation with the Zabadani City Council and relevant authorities to organize this festival periodically, at least twice a year, to ensure the provision of commodities to citizens at reduced and competitive prices.For his part, Mr. Samir Darwish praised the cooperation and joint efforts between the Chamber of Industry of Damascus and its Countryside, the Zabadani region administration, and the City Council to establish this festival. He explained that the primary goal of setting up this event is to provide goods and products to the people of the region directly from the producer to the consumer, ensuring the elimination of all middle links, wholesalers, and semi-wholesalers to offer suitable and competitive prices that serve citizens and ease their burdens. He invited the residents of Zabadani and neighboring areas to visit the festival and benefit from the available offers, noting that the events will continue for 12 days (from August 31 to September 12), opening its doors daily to visitors from 12:00 PM until 9:00 PM
