The attention of the Pakistani private sector is turning towards the Syrian market. This was confirmed by the visiting economic delegation headed by Mahmood Arshad, President of the Pakistan Business Economic Council, during his visit to the Damascus International Fair and his meeting with Engineer Mohammad Ayman al-Moulawi, Chairman of the Damascus and Countryside Chamber of Industry, in the presence of Mr. Umar Hayat Khan, Deputy Head of the Pakistani Mission in Damascus.Mr. Mahmood Arshad emphasized the strategic and vital importance that Syria represents for the Pakistani private sector. He explained that the delegation includes 10 members representing major Pakistani industrial and commercial sectors, noting that the visit aims to explore available investment opportunities, participate effectively in the reconstruction phase, and build long-term partnerships in various fields and alliances with Syrian businessmen.For his part, Engineer Mohammad Ayman al-Moulawi stressed the depth of the historical relations between the two peoples. He highlighted the Syrian industrial sector's aspiration to build joint investments and establish genuine partnerships, pointing out that the investment environment in Syria opens its doors to Pakistani companies wishing to operate across various sectors.In the same context, Mr. Umar Hayat Khan expressed the Pakistani private sector's keenness to capitalize on the investment opportunities available in Syria and to strengthen trade and industrial cooperation mechanisms in the coming period. He expressed readiness to provide detailed data about the delegation and the sectors it represents, enabling the Chamber to network them with their counterparts among Syrian industrialists and businessmen
